Reading Corner
With the rainy days, I found a lot of projects to work on in the house and a lot of time to play with Jack. He loves his books and would go behind the chair in his room to find the stragglers left on the floor. So to keep him busy, I made him his own little reading corner behind his chair, and he loves it! I'm not finished "decorating" it yet, but he loves his reading time. I find him sitting surrounded by all of his books picking up each one, totally enthralled by the pictures and words. I love it! One great piece of advice I received from my sisters when I was pregnant (they are so wise), was read, read, read to your child; even when they are a newborn, read to them. So that is what I did. I hope that he will always love to read.

Oh, Amy, I am so proud of you and your little reader! What a cutie! And a reading corner is a perfect idea. Just the thought makes this librarian very happy.
That is so neat! I love the picture of him surrounded by his books! You are such a good mom. He's a lucky little guy! Tracen has missed out on a lot of the reading time the other two got when they were little. Hopefully he'll be okay if I start doing better now.
That is SO cute!! I love it! I have some pictures like this of Keegan too; he still gets a story at nap time and bed time every day!
oh this is too cute! He does look happy as a lark back there with his pillows and books! what a great mom you are! I know now's not the time...but I am SERIOUSLY going to miss that little guy!
How cute! I love the picture and the idea; great work, Amy!
how cute amy! i totally agree! we've been reading ethan a story every night before bed since he was born. and we already notice that he is completely into them when we read them. he fusses if we don't have him propped so he can see the pictures. lol.
Hey...get some plastic plugs for that outlet! :) If he is anything like our "almost two" year old, he likes those! Anyway...he is a cute kid and sort of a mineature Grandpa Knarr. When's #2 baby coming?

(Nice birthday Jack!)
oh that is so sweet, he's adorable! he looks so comfy and content in his little corner.
That is really inspirational! I really need to start doing that with Jake more often. I love that he is just sitting in his "library" having a great time just reading his books. How fun!
I see Boynton books in that bucket. They're my favorite.
We read to our boys every night, and occasionally I'll walk in on them just reading to each other in their corner. I love that they love to read. I want smart boys.
Sorry we missed you over President's Day. We were sick, you were sick, Ty was prepping for surgery... it was a rough month. Maybe next time!
We have a reading corner too!!! Looks like the same pillow as well! (we have a PINK tub though & that stores our bath toys; but a canvas bin for our books), how funny! Aren't they adorable when they get so into "their" reading! Zella can sit for an hour or so going through all her books reading, pointing, & singing. I love just to watch her, it's the best! She now likes to get a tablet/coloring book/book & a writing utensil & act as though she is making a list & writing. She watches when I write letters home. I saw her put a piece of paper up to her mouth & moved it side to side. I asked her what she was doing, she stuck her tongue out & raised the paper to show me. It took me a minute to catch on, she was trying to seal an envelope. It only took her one time to see me do it! Such little minds...so smart...learning so fast!

Amy he's gotten so big! I hope you are doing well and that Jack-Jack's health is better. I love the little footsie jammies (that's my fav).
Amy! You are back to blogging - I am so happy. Jack is just the cutest little boy ever. My daughter, Avery, is the exact same way. Totally loves her books and reading and I love when I catch her just sitting with all her books spread out around her.
SO fun.
PS: I have a new blog - missydevin.blogspot.com
