Thank you J. Crew Thank you for finally believing that there are actually other tall people in the world besides your models. J. Crew finally extended their inseams to 36 inches. I know that doesn't sound exciting to most people, but there aren't too many stores out there that believe that there are taller people than 5'8.

Too Tall Hee Haw was the nickname my brother gave me at Aunt Laura's (our parents business). Every time I went to punch in, there was my name "too tall hee haw". But this is a brother that really did care. We were both working at the mall and it was right before prom. He knew that I was trying to find a pair of shoes that wouldn't make me taller than my date. I was in complete agony over trying to find a cute one inch heel shoe. He stopped what he was doing and told the other employees we were going on break. He took my hand and dragged me to one of the store's display windows. There in the window, were these huge pictures of beautiful models with 6 inch stiletto heels on. They looked amazing and confident. He told me that these girls were taller than me, wearing big heels and loving it. I told him I wasn't a model on display at Victoria Secrets, or I wouldn't care. But I have never forgotten this moment. I am tall and proud of it. My pants may always look like a floods coming, but I can reach the top shelf, see over crowds and reach my husbands lips without standing on my tip toes. Tall is beautiful and I embrace it.

what a sweet brother! You are lucky, I always need a step stool to get anything, and I feel like I'm going to break my neck if I kiss Zach when I don't have shoes on. My Mom used to be called 'stork legs' when she was in high school, and at first she wasn't impressed by my dad because 'he was too short.' I would take a little of your tallness any day!

My sister has recently decided that her new favorite store is J. Crew. Every time she mentions it, I want to tell her that everything I've learned about J. Crew started with Miss Amy.

Hooray for long pants and hooray for tall Amy, my beautiful friend.

Tall is beautiful, and you my friend, are GORGEOUS!! I have always loved that about you...the fact that you were confident to wear heels, even though you don't necessarily need the extra inches like some of us do. I love that your brother took the time to show you that. You always look so elegant and lovely, in heels or flats, or bare feet! Love ya!

Being tall is so awesome!I always wished I was 5'11, don't know why, just sounded like a good round number.I was always the one wearing those huge heels, my attitude was if I intimidated them, then GOOD!The more confident ones would approach me!You are so beautiful just the way you are :) Long legs mcGee and all...

Too Tall Hee Haw? And to think I was calling you wildebeast. I could have been so much more creative.

You're gorgeous and you know it.

I don't think I've ever heard this story, although I do remember all the preparations you made before prom and how much everything cost.... It just reminds me of our seminary mornings when we'd chat for a few minutes while you curled your hair in the church bathroom before we were off to school. Gosh, it's been like 10 years almost. I miss you!!!!

By the way, I still think about your mom and summers at the Knarr's whenever I buy kiwi. I loved those treasure hunts she would make up for us! And yeah, it would be a funny irony if I ever teach an aquatic aerobics class. How great is it that you made that video for me, so I have a record of that experience! :)

to be tall . . . I was your little short friend that you'd prop your elbows or head on while stand in the hallways of McCaskey!!! I'll always remember the time you tried on my pants in your old room at the old house, talk about high waters!!! Miss you lots.

Well, I used to work at J.Crew, and on behalf of my former company, I say you are very welcome. I wish I could find a store where I didn't feel like thumbalina every time I put on a pair of pants and need a foot of fabric whacked off the bottom. There is no pleasing women is there?

Thanks for the reminder to embrace who we are. Right now I am round...hopefully I will be embracing my post baby body in the next week or two. I am not even close to as tall as you, but I still can't find pants that fit my legs and my bum. Oh well, atleast I married a tall guy and can wear the tallest shoes I want.
